Our 5-kilometre beach, two lifeguard stations (Messanges Sud and Messanges Nord; supervised from June 15 to September 15, when our four-legged friends are welcome on a leash), as well as the semaphore, will let you enjoy a wide range of water sports in complete peace of mind, under sunny skies.
Walking trails, the GR8, cycle paths, and tennis await you for a relaxing stay, in a setting of water, greenery, space, and freedom.
Market every Wednesday morning all year round, and every Wednesday and Friday morning (in season) in the village centre.

Vieux-Boucau, between lake and ocean
A family seaside resort just a stone’s throw from the campsite in Messanges, where you can enjoy its 3 beaches and its marine lake, with plenty of water activities.
Plenty of entertainment is on offer during the summer season: course landaise, Basque pelota, Landes folklore, beef on the beach…
In-season market every day except Sunday; off-season on Tuesday and Saturday mornings. This must-see market is located along the Moisan canal, next to the fronton and the bullring.
Night market on Monday at the beach, and a craft market on Wednesday by the marine lake.

In season, local life comes alive for everyone’s enjoyment. In Vieux-Boucau, plenty of events set the pace for summer, offering festive, friendly moments for young and old alike.
In Messanges, in July and August, don’t miss the must-see sardine grills held in the heart of the village every Saturday: a true local tradition to share in a warm, friendly atmosphere.

Things to see and do around Messanges and Vieux-Boucau
Treat yourself to a walk around Lake Vieux-Boucau. Families can discover the fun and educational trail with Amic, who will guide you as you explore the area. Along the way, take a break at Soustons Plage in the shade of the pines.
In Messanges, don’t miss Étang du Moïsan and its marked trail of around 4 km. In summer, you might be lucky enough to spot the famous “sea cows” there, for a nature walk that’s as surprising as it is enjoyable.
